Prison Fellowship
The Aberdeen Prison Fellowship team includes a number of volunteers from Deeside. The aim of PF is to work directly with prison chaplains in Craiginches to facilitate programmes and pastoral care in prison and to provide support for prisoner families. At present PF volunteers are involved in the following:
On the inside – attending prison managerial meetings and chaplaincy team meetings, assisting in chapel services, befriending prisoners, running discussion groups like Alpha and other Life courses, showing films and organising praise events.
On the outside-supporting families who have someone in prison, assisting in finding accommodation and work for ex offenders, encouraging ex offenders to attend the Lighthouse support centre, involvement in one to one mentoring and encouraging ex offenders into Bible studies and church groups.
At present PF offers support in prison two times a week.
9-00am Sunday - Services are held at 9am in the prison chapel 2-30pm Thursday - Men’s group and discussion
