JeremySmallTeaching Pastor

 

Jeremy McQuoid joined in April 2004 to become the new Teaching Pastor at Deeside Christian Fellowship Church.

 

He was born in Belfast to missionary parents and is a trained teacher of modern languages.

 

In 2000, he and his wife Elizabeth graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in the USA, with Master of Divinity degrees.

 

Jeremy was Teaching Pastor in Thornhill Community Church in Cardiff for three-and-a-half years, before joining the leadership in Deeside.

 

Jeremy and Elizabeth have three boys; Mark, Daniel and Nathan.

JohnSmallOutreach Pastor

 

John Merson was brought up in a fishing town of Portsoy in the North East of Scotland. When he left school he became a fisherman.

 

After two years at sea he moved to Aberdeen to work in the offshore oil industry. At 25 he left Scotland for Brazil to work in Ituiutaba and Sao Paulo. In Brazil he engaged in church planting, working with street children, running youth camps, helping drug addicts and working as a prison chaplain in the infamous Carandiru prison.

 

After 5 years in Brazil he returned to Scotland and studied theology at Northumbria Bible College.

 

For the last 16 years he has been working at DCF as the Outreach Pastor. In recent years his ministry has become much more Urban focused with a greater emphasis on helping the marginalised and spearheading inner city ministries like the Lighthouse Support Centre in Tillydrone.

 

John recently received his Masters from Aberdeen University in “Ministry in an urban world” through his studies at ICC.

 

He continues to have a huge passion for urban mission and fishing. He is married to his Danish wife Anna, they have 4 children.

RobertSmallCare Pastor

 

Robert Hamilton joined the pastoral team in DCFC in August 2008. His main responsabilites within the fellowship are pastoral care and supervision of home groups.

 

He is originally from Northern Ireland where he worked as police officer for 9 years before doing the one year "Training for Service" course at Tilsley College in 1988/89.

 

Upon completion of that course Robert, together with his wife Muriel and children, moved to Italy where, in association with GLO Europe, they were involved in pastoral work and evangelism in the city of Naples until July 2008.

 

Robert and Muriel have five grown-up children and five grandchildren.

 

Outwith his work at DCFC, Robert is a member of both the European board of GLO (www.glo-europe.org) and the Advisory Group to Echoes of Service (www.echoes.org.uk). He serves in a consultative role with Italian Ministries (www.italianministries.org) He is also a keen supporter of SSC Napoli!

DougieSmallYoung People's Pastor

 

Dougie Simpson is the latest addition to the pastoral team joining in August 2009.

 

He is originally from Kirkcaldy and studied at Glasgow University before joining the teaching staff at Dyce Academy. He was Principal Teacher of Design & Technolgy at Dyce Academy before he felt God’s call on his life to move into the ministry.

 

Dougie recently completed the Cornhill Training Course where participants are trained to a) understand the Word more accurately, b) preach it more effectively, and c)apply it more responsibly. He has responsibility for children, youth and student work in Deeside.

 

Dougie is married to Susan, they have a daughter Katie who's 2, and a son Michael who was born in August 2011.

Administrative Staff

 

The church office is staffed five days a week (9.00am – 5.00pm).

 

Anita Talbott works full-time as PA to the pastors.

 

Anne Beedie works part-time (mornings) to help out with various administrative tasks.
